A luxury rental is generally considered to reflect the price ranges:

1brs from $1,750; 2 brs from $2,000;
3brs
from $2,750; 4brs from $3,500.

These rentals can be found along the NJ Gold Coast, in high-rise or mid-rise buildings with doorman and amenities or in a neighborhood above the median income level.

A budget rental falls in the price range as reflected below:

Studios from $750; 1brs from $900;
2brs from $1,100; 3brs from $1,700.

These rentals generally are not in doorman buildings, but found in older high-rise buildings, mid-rise buildings or two family homes.

Property Types

Condo
(Condominium) - is individually owned deeded real estate plus a share of common spaces used by other residents and pay your proportionate share of maintenance costs.
Coop
(Co-operative) - housing project, you become a shareholder in a corporation that owns the building and you carry a leasehold interest in your unit and pay your proportionate share of the underlying mortgage, taxes and costs of maintaining the building.
Single Family
(Home, house, or dwelling) - building is usually occupied by just one family and consists of just one unit. In some jurisdictions allowances are made for basement mother / daughter suites without changing the description from "single family".
Multi-Family
Multifamily - a residential building equal to or larger than 2 units. Multifamily space types include all square footage in the residential units, common areas, and unconditioned space (boiler room). Occupants of Multifamily housing can include tenants, cooperators, and/or individual owners.
Townhouse
(Townhome) - is one of a row of homes sharing common walls. Differing from condominiums, townhouse ownership does include individual ownership of the land. There can also be common elements, such as a central courtyard, that would have shared ownership.
Hi-Rise
Multi-storied building with approximately 12 stories equipped with elevators.
Low-Rise
Between 4-11 stories with an elevator.
